Harbour Island is probably the most charming of all the islands we visit! Here you can stop off at Arthur's Bakery - then meet up with your bonefish guide - or take along a good book to read under an umbrella on a pink sand beach - life was ment to be simple in this part of the world. We welcome you to the first leg of the Bermuda Triangle Series - The Harbour Island Open!
Getting there is easy! Board your hour long flight in Miami or Fort Lauderdale and before you know it... you're landing on the island of North Eleuthera!
Walk outside the terminal to the taxi area where you will be met by "Fine Threads" (or other friendly drivers) who will whisk (8 minutes) you to the ferry landing. You are now just a five-minute water taxi ride away from one of the best kept secrets in the Bahamas! If you are arriving by boat, you are advised that the Devil's Backbone or northern most entrance should not be attempted without the knowledge of a local pilot. These pilots standby on VHF Channel 16. Travel a little further to the south and you will find a cut and then just follow the markers to the marinas. The host marina for the Harbour Island Open is the Harbour Island Marina. Contact marina manager Sherrill Pletscher at (242) 333-2427 or email her: email. Another popular marina is Valentines, which is located just a half mile north of the host marina. The Dock master is Marcus Pinder and you can contact him at (242) 333-2142.
You'll need to get around to see the sights of Dunmore and we recommend that you rent a golf cart from one of the many rental agencies. Your hotel staff or Sherrill at the marina will be happy to make these arrangements for you. The town is quaint with a charming waterfront street that is lined with very old, brightly colored Victorian style houses.
There are many restaurants to choose from and shopping opportunities abound!
The residents are very friendly and helpful (especially when you are lost and it comes to asking for directions). Regardless if the fish decide to bite or not, we promise that you'll love Harbour Island!
Harbour Island is very family friendly too. While you're out fishing in the tournament, there are plenty of activities for the rest of the family to enjoy. There is horseback riding down the beach, snorkeling, beachcombing and exploring outer islands. There are also many lunch spots to enjoy, serving delicious wines, salads and fresh fish, and hamburgers and hot dogs too! You won't feel guilty leaving them behind while your're out fising.

The favorite with our anglers! Coral Sands overlooks the Atlantic and the pink sand beaches of Harbour Island. Here you can choose to turn on the air or leave the windows open to invite the cool breezes inside. You'll find this to be the most comfortable resort you've ever stayed in! Coral Sands is rated one of the top in the Bahamas and we certainly agree!
Meticulously renovated and gorgeously updated, Coral Sands is a casual and tranquil escape.
Here, it's all about comfort and style ... and even more now, as Coral Sands has just completed its restoration and upgrade.
Guest rooms and suites, newly refurbished in British Colonial style - you'll find they are elegant and luxurious.
Expect impeccable, friendly service and personal touches like L'Occitane beauty and grooming products in your room. The managers of Coral Sands are Jacques and Pamela Brouchier who are "hands on" in touch with all their guest.
Coral Sands is our host hotel and the site of the awards banquet. The food is wonderful and you'll find that the menu to offer a wide variety of choices. Specialties are naturally the fresh caught seafood - but the steaks cut like butter and will melt in your mouth!
