Dear Observer Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in becoming an observer. The ABMT observer program is one of the best in the industry and we offer twenty-five years of proof that angling for "high $$$ stakes" does not require that the fish be put on the dock! The ABMT "modified release" format has become a model for others to emulate and we wish to thank the observers who return year after year, in support of the program.

As this is a fund raising event for the Boy Scouts, we ask that our observers help to defray the operating cost of the program. If you cannot afford to do so at this time, we recommend that you find a sponsor from within the the ndustry to help you out. You may promise your sponsor that you will display their litauture and hang their banner in a prominate location.

Observer/sponsor checks checks are made out to: VI Council Boy Scouts/ABMT

Return this application immediately (via fax) at (340) 779-8605 and you will be considered for this year's event. After the submission of your application - you must call and be interviewed by the Tournament Director. Telephone toll free: 1-888-234-7484 or tel. (340) 775-9500. If chosen, you will be confirmed in writing - so be sure to add your email address to your application! Also be sure that the application is signed by yourself and a member of the "Board Of Captains" or it will not be considered!

Please do not send in your observer donation until you have been notified that you have been accepted. You may learn more about the ABMT by reading the rules at: tournament rules.

OBSERVER APPLICATION

January 2005

Hello IGFA Observers!

AIRLINE INFORMATION

We do not arrange flights for the Bahamas or Bermuda legs of the Bermuda Triangle Series (BTS). Observers will be coming from all parts of the USA and it’s too complicated to handle everyone’s travel needs. We will provide an observer flight out of Miami for the ABMT (Boy Scout), or you can handle your own air if that is what you usually do.

OBSERVER FEES - GENERAL INFORMATION

Because many of our observers will be paying their own airfare to get to these exotic destinations, the tournament operation will help to subsidize the cost of hotel, food and banquet expenses. Below are the fees and the dates of the tournaments. Please note the schedule and start making your reservations if you have been accepted.

Harbour Island, Bahamas - Observers must be checked into Tingum Village (1-242-333-2161) on May 24, 2005. The observer’s mandatory meeting will be held at Tingum Village at 9 a.m. on May 25, 2005. We will fish May 26, 27, 28, 2005. Note: Fly into North Eleuthera and take taxi (10 minute ride) to the Harbour Island ferry landing. Then take the short (10 minute) water taxi to the Harbour Island Marina. Sounds complicated but taxi drivers and ferry boat captain makes it easy. Observer fee $300.00.

Hamilton Bermuda - Observers must be checked into the Rosemont (Tel. 1-800-367-0040) on July 5, 2005. The observer’s mandatory meeting will be at 9 a.m. at the TBA on July 6, 2005. We will fish July 7, 8, 9, 2005. Note: Only one airport on Bermuda - take taxi (20 minutes) to the Rosemont Hotel, which is located in Hamilton Bermuda. Observer fee $475.00.

St. Thomas, Virgin Islands - Observers must be checked in the TBA hotel on August 14, 2005. We will fish Aug. 16, 17, 18, 20, 2005. The observer’s mandatory meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on Aug. 15, 2005 at the Virgin Islands Game Fishing Club (Red Hook). If you are taking your own flight – there is only one airport on St. Thomas. Take a taxi (20 minutes) to the TBA hotel. If you are booked on the ABMT group flight, you will be met at the airport. The observer fee is $300/600 (own air verses coming on group air).

Checks are made payable to: VI Council of Boy Scouts. Observer fees must be paid in full two weeks in advance of the tournament date. Toll free info. 1-888-234-7484. See the ABMT rules at www.abmt.vi. Print a copy and sleep with them under your pillow! Call for help (1-888-234-7484 or 1-340-775-9500) if you are having problems locating a member of the BOC to sign for you.

MANDATORY "7 DAY CHECK IN" APPLYS TO ALL EVENTS! Observers must communicate (via email or telephone) with the Tournament Director 7 days prior to the first day of scheduled fishing. There may be breaking news (flight changes, weather, etc.) or last minute instructions. Be sure to mark your calendars!

Welcome to the Major Leagues of Big Game Fishing!
