Welcome to the Major Leagues of Sportfishing!

The ABMT "Boy Scout" along with our Bermuda Triangle Series and Spanish Main Series offer some of the finest prizes in tournament fishing. In addition to you or your team being named on our beautiful perpetual trophies - you'll also win many tackle prizes and cash awards. We favor giving prizes that will be used by anglers, rather than items that collect dust sitting on the shelf.

FISHING CAREER AWARDS TOO!

The Best "Series" Angler of each leg of the Bermuda Triangle Series wins a gold hook designed by artist Ed Pang (a once in the angler's fishing career gift). A precious stone (Sapphire/Bahamas, Ruby/Bermuda, Diamond/St. Thomas) is inset to denote the tournament leg that is won. The angler wins another precious stone for each leg won thereafter.

Likewise, the Best "Series" Angler in each leg of the Spanish Main Series wins a 1500's Gold Spanish coin pendant designed by the Bernard Passman Galleries (a once in the angler's fishing career gift). As the anglers continue to win different legs of the series, they are awarded an emerald to denote each leg that is won.

OUR TOURNAMENT PHILOSOPHY!

All ABMT tournaments (including our two sister series) consist of three competitions in terms of prize awards. First and foremost we believe in the "Old Man and the Sea" philosophy of matching the angler up with the fish first - before matching angler against angler, or team against team or boat against boat. The main thrust of our rules are based on insuring "angler" fairness. Our logic is to award the anglers and their crews with the top prizes, enabling the boats and or "teams" to win the Calcuttas.

What makes awarding prizes even more intresting is that all of our tournaments are named "OPEN", meaning for reasons of political correctness, anglers in the foreign countries visited are welcome to jump into the fray. This is sometimes confusing when handing out the prizes in our "series" of tournaments, because the top prizes (including the cash) can go to a locally registered angler in the "Open" instead of someone who is a member of a team that is entered in the series. The salvation is that the "Top Series Angler" prize (gold coin or bejeweled gold hook) can only be won by an angler who is fishing for a team registered in the series. Operating tournaments inside of other tournaments certainly makes life more interesting!

ABMT "BOY SCOUT" TOURNAMENT

Anglers receive points based on their individual catches. Top cash awards 1st place - $10,000, 2nd place - $5,000, 3rd place - $3,500. In addition tournament prizes (Shimano Reels and Leeward Custom Rods w/Winthrop Guides) go to: Top Angler - Second Best Angler - Third Best Angler - Best Jr. Angler and Best Female Angler . Topping it all, the first, second and third place anglers win a beautiful Ed Pang sculptured bronze on marble base bone hook. The name of the "Top Angler" is also listed on the ABMT's beautiful Ed Pang perpetual award (top of page photo).

CREW TOURNAMENT

The crews compete with each other for $3000 in cash prizes. The "Best Crew" cash prizes are awarded for the crew with the most accumulate angler points.
In addition to the cash awards the first, second and third "Best Captains" win a nice tackle prize for their personal use.
A "Bonus Tag" award of $1,000 goes to the crew that tags the most marlin.
The "Top Captain" wins a beautiful Submariner compliments of Rolex and AH Riise.

BOAT TOURNAMENT

Jump into the various pots and accumulate a bunch of angler points to win the "Boat" Tournament. The Calcutta usually exceeds $400,000 while the Daily's are worth $95,000. And don't forget the Winner Takes All "Last Day Shoot Out" valued around $125,000. Better be good than lucky - because it takes catching seven to twelve blue marlin to win!
